LEXINGTON NATIVE
Like my grandmother, I was born in Lexington, KY,
in the old St. Joseph Hospital on Second St. I
attended Cassidy, Breckenridge, and Morton schools,
Henry Clay High, and I graduated from Eastern
Kentucky University. I think this is important to my
work here; I know this area --Lexington’s
neighborhoods new and old, the schools, business,
people, and politics.
SALES EXPERIENCE
I took my first paying job when I was 14, and
naturally, it was in sales. Many a stylish lady left
Dan Cohen Shoes looking even more stylish in heels
or flats she had purchased from me. Two years later,
when I took the delivery job at Wheeler Pharmacy on
Romany Road, I had to secretly teach myself to drive
a stick shift on the job. Though my first two
deliveries were to nearby addresses, it took me
about an hour and a half of clutching, lurching,
bucking and stalling, but I got the job done. And I
kept doing it (without the lurching) for three
years.
In 1974, I was so determined to work in
television, I took a part-time position sweeping
floors at WKYT-TV. Which led to work as a camera
operator, and eventually to a slot on the sales
staff – my goal all along. My first year in sales, I
was honored with the Super Optimist Award, which set
the tone for the next eight years of successfully
helping many clients to develop their marketing
plans.
MARKETING EXPERIENCE
In 1985, Sharalee and I launched AD-SUCCESS
Marketing, in a 10"x 10' room in our basement. But
as the client list grew, along with our reputation
for excellence and integrity, the company moved into
a suite of offices and studios, added staff and
technology, and took its place among Lexington’s
most respected marketing concerns. During my nearly
20 years there, I developed business for AD-SUCCESS,
and marketing programs for our clients.
MORE EDUCATION
In 1997 I was asked to run for a seat on the
Fayette County School Board. I won by getting over
80% of the vote and served for 4 years until 2001. I
served as Chairman of the school board in 2001. That
was a REAL education.
WHY KELLER WILLIAMS?
Looking for a new challenge, and always looking
to interact with more and more people, I decided to
take my marketing experience into the real estate
business full-time in 2006. After successfully
completing real estate school, I began the search
for THE firm best suited to my goals and my personal
standards of honor and integrity.
I selected Keller Williams Bluegrass Realty. I
was impressed with the expertise and the quality of
the brokers and realtors that were already there,
and Keller Williams is one of the fastest growing
real estate companies in the USA. Keller Williams
started by recruiting the best brokers and realtors
in Central Kentucky, and continues that policy
today. I am proud to be a part of Keller Williams
Bluegrass Realty -- the fastest growing real estate
company in Central Kentucky.
The training Keller Williams has given me, along
with my often unorthodox approach to marketing, has
given me the expertise I need to help anyone in the
process of selling or buying a home. This city is my
home, and I welcome you to Lexington.
